Fred Cheung, DDS, has been a resident of Iowa for over 36 years and obtained his academic achievements at the University of Iowa. Upon his graduation from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, Dr. Cheung was awarded two distinguished honors: Outstanding Senior Student in Pediatric Dentistry and Outstanding Senior Student in Dental Radiology. The recipient of these awards is selected by the faculty and given to the senior dental student who has shown proficiency and skill in the respective disciplines.
Dr. Cheung then proceeded through a two-year specialty residency at one of the most prestigious children’s care facilities in the world, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where he obtained extensive clinical experience. Cincinnati Children’s is nationally and internationally recognized for the care of children with complicated medical, physical, and mental conditions.
In 1979, Dr. Cheung founded his own dental practice in Dubuque, Iowa and continues to provide quality dentistry to the children of Dubuque and the surrounding areas. Dr. Cheung is dually licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Iowa and Wisconsin.
Dr. Cheung is particularly interested in the study of physiological growth and development of children which closely coincides with pediatric orthodontics. He has attended numerous continuing education courses and continues to further his education in all aspects of pediatric dentistry to better serve his patients.
